The Pefferlaw community in the Town of Georgina is buzzing about the newest restaurant in Town – Taps n’ Tracks. The new dining establishment adds to Pefferlaw’s growing main street that includes unique shops, essentials and other dining options. It is another great place to eat and socialize for residents and the many visitors coming to Georgina year-round.
Matthew and Stephanie have been cheered and supported during their new business journey by friends and neighbours who encouraged them to open the business. They sat on the idea for a while and did some research. When the space became available, they jumped on it, created a business plan and reached out to South Lake Futures, a business counselling and financial support organization in Georgina, for assistance.
After getting the green light, they opened their venture in less than two months – a journey they are both proud and excited to embark on.
When asked why they chose to start their business in Pefferlaw, Matthew and Stephanie said they wanted to cement a legacy in Georgina as a family, “It is a great nervous feeling to see the vision become what I always imagined it would be. It is satisfying and elating. There are a lot of emotions.”
Matthew is a five-year resident and said he chooses to live and work in Pefferlaw because of the people. “Our neighbours are amazing. They’ve all become family. The comradery here, the support, and the community it’s unreal. I grew up in the city and never imagined myself living in a rural area like this, but now I would never imagine going back.”
Taps n’ Tracks offers homemade and upscale breakfast and bar meals using locally sourced meats and vegetables. Visit their Facebook or Instagram pages to view the menu, hours and updates.
